Science of keeping cool in the NT

Developed in Partnership with CSIRO and City of Darwin.

The 2025 Heat Workshops bring hands-on, curriculum-aligned STEM learning to classrooms across the Northern Territory, using playful, practical experiments that tap into the unique challenges of our tropical climate.

Students investigate how heat moves, how materials insulate, and how animals and engineers solve the problem of staying cool. Each workshop blends science, creativity, and critical thinking—anchored in real-world relevance.
