CSIRO Darwin Living Lab Symposium
The Darwin Living Lab Symposium is an opportunity to bring together community, industry and government practitioners, to learn and exchange local knowledge on heat mitigation, urban planning and tropical design.
The CSIRO-led Darwin Living Lab (DLL) was established as part of the Darwin City Deal and is a 10-year collaborative partnership (2019-29) between the Commonwealth Government, Northern Territory Government and City of Darwin. The partnership brings together research, government, industry and the community to co-create solutions to Darwin's most pressing urban challenges that include adapting to a warming climate and creating a more liveable and sustainable city.
The focus of this years' symposium is on identifying practical heat mitigation opportunities for people living, working and visiting Darwin - empowering people to take action to stay cool in Darwin's warming wet-dry tropical climate. We will discuss topics such as:
Busting myths about human thermal comfort
The impacts of heat on health
What technologies can help us stay cool and how do we use them.
